THE PARK - A GARDEN MONUMENT

THE PARK - A GARDEN MONUMENT

Playing children, picnic in the grass under the trees, a good book or an edifying walk. This inner-city park with its old trees and separated from the bordering streets by walls provides peace and relaxation.  Equilibrium and a contrast to the lively bustle of the big city.

Lychener Straße

Lychener Straße

The classic stuccoed old building is located in Lychener Straße between Kollwitzplatz and Helmholtzplatz. The uniqueness of Lychenerstraße 26 is its location directly opposite the park, a garden monument, which makes this house even in this popular residential street and Prenzlauer Berg something very special. Pure quality of life in the inner-city.

The emblem of the town of Lychen/Uckermark is the kingfisher – one of Germany’s most beautiful birds. It was the inspiration for the logo of the house on Lychener Straße 26.

The Kulturbrauerei

The Kulturbrauerei

The former premises and headquarters of the Schultheiss-Brauerei (brewery) was extensively renovated from 1998 and maintained as a monument to industrial architecture. Today it hosts, amongst others, cinemas, theatres, clubs and many more cultural institutions and companies. There is also a supermarket and particularly the Christmas market and various festivals are annual highlights.

Mauerpark

Mauerpark

The expansive Mauerpark gets its name from the Berlin Wall which used to run across it. Today this recreational park is particularly popular at weekends as a large diverse flea market, a popular karaoke show at the amphitheatre and many more events take place here.  Further attractions are a climbing wall, a basketball court, the Max-Schmeling-Halle, a sports stadium and even a small farm.
